Offline dictionary for ubuntu 10.04

උබුන්ටු වලට default install කරලා තියෙන්නේ online dictionary එකක්. ඒකෙන් ප්‍රයෝජනයක් ගන්න නම් හැම වෙලාවෙම Internet තියෙන්න ඕන.INTERNET නැති වෙලාවට හරි connection slow වෙලාවට මෙම dictionary එක භාවිතා කිරීමට අපහසුයි. පහතින් තියෙන ක්‍රමයෙන් පුලුවන් මේ dictionary එක offline වැඩ කරන විදියට හදාගන්න...

terminal (Application -> Accessories -> Terminal ) එක අරගෙන පහත command 3 run කරන්න. නැත්නම් synaptic package manager (System -> Administration -> synaptic package manager) එක අරගෙන package name 3 type කරලා install කරගන්න...

sudo apt-get install dictd
sudo apt-get install dict-gcide
sudo apt-get install dict-moby-thesaurus

dictd – This is the Dictionary server which supports DICT protocol.
dict-gcide – English Dictionary
dict-moby-thesaurus – thesaurus data source in English. This is an optional one

හරි දැන් dictionary server එක install වෙලා තියෙන්නේ. දැන් මේක dictionary එකට add කරන්නේ මේ විදියට...

1.  Dictionary එක open කරගන්න.

2. Edit –> Preference

 

3. Add button එක click කරන්න.

 

 4. මේ Details ටික Enter කරන්න.
     Dictionary name : Default
     Transport : Dictionary Server
     Hostname : 127.0.0.1
     Port : 2628

දැන් අපිට dictionary එක offline වැඩ කරන්න පුලුවන්.
